Day for the Poor: Sunday 9th
November is the annual special collection for World Day for the Poor. All funds
will go to the Mercy Centre, run by the Sisters of Mercy at St Catharine's
Convent of Mercy, Lauriston. Sr Aelred Timmins said: "Homeless people come
here every day for food, sometimes for sleeping bags, most of all they're
looking for friendship and a listening ear. Please keep us in your prayers, and
we are grateful to anybody who is able to support the works of mercy in this

Sunday (9th
November) is Remembrance Sunday: There will be a Service at
the War Memorial in Burntisland at 12 noon.
November – Month of the Holy
Souls: Please
write the names of your loved ones who have died on the lists provided and
place them in the basket at the Altar. Those named will be remembered in a
special way at Masses in November. We will also remember those named on the
crosses placed in the garden of poppies. Crosses provided by the Knit & Knatter group, with donations going to the Lourdes fund.

Ecumenical Service Sunday 16 November at 3 p.m. In St Margaret's church, Woodside Road, Glenrothes, there
will be an ecumenical service to mark the 3rd anniversary of
the signing of the St Margaret's Declaration of Friendship between the Roman
catholic Church in Scotland and the Church of Scotland. This service is
an initiative of Fife Presbytery of the Church of Scotland, and all Catholics in
Fife are invited to participate.
Fife Education Mass: For all who are, or have been, involved in Catholic Education
in Fife. Mass will be celebrated by Canon Brian Gowans in St Marie’s RC Church,
Kirkcaldy, on Wednesday 19 November at 7:00pm. Tea and coffee after Mass.
Red Wednesday at Cathedral: Archbishop Cushley, will celebrate Mass at 7:00pm on
Wednesday 19 November at St Mary's Cathedral, Edinburgh, to pray for Christians
across the world who suffer for their faith. William More from Aid to the
Church in Need, will speak at the Mass.
Venerable Margaret
Sinclair event: Commemorate the centenary of
the death of Venerable Margaret Sinclair on Saturday 22 November 2025 by
meeting at her former grave in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Edinburgh, at 9:00am to
pray the Rosary. This will be followed by a walk to her tomb at St Patrick's in
the Cowgate. Benediction at 12:15pm followed by Holy Mass at 12:30pm.
A Centenary Mass will be offered at the Sacred Heart Altar, in St
Patrick's on Monday 24 November at 5:45pm.
Victory: A day to
explore the gift of confession: The
Church instructs us to go to confession - Why? If you'd like to deepen your
understanding of this limitless gift join the Archdiocese on Saturday
22 November, 10:00am-3:45pm at St Patrick's, 30 Low Craigends,
Kilsyth, G65 0PF, for a day hosted by the Catechetics Commission - its first
'on the road' event. The day includes talks, testimony, and an opportunity for
Confession. There is also Mass ahead of the event at 9:30am. Register on

Diploma in
Catechetics - register now: Explore the richness
of the Catholic faith in 2026 by taking the Diploma in Catechetics. The popular
course is run by the Archdiocese and takes place at
7:30pm each Thursday on Zoom, starting on 22 January. Be quick, places limited
