Queensferry Crossing walk:

Thank you for sponsoring Judith and Gordon Woods who recently walked across the new Queensferry Crossing in aid of a Multiple Sclerosis Charity.

The total raised was £1248.40. Thank you for your great generosity towards this wonderful charity. Thanks also to Judith and Gordon for completing the walk.


Saints of the Week:

Wednesday 27th St. Vincent de Paul Priest 1580-1660, committed to care of the disadvantaged and the oppressed. Founded the Congregation of the Mission (the Vincentians) and the Daughters of Charity (1633), the first sisters to work outside their convents in active service.


Friday 29th September SS. Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, Archangels. Gabriel brought the message to Mary at the Annunciation. Raphael was the guide to Tobias. Michael has been venerated as protector of Christians in general and soldiers in particular.


Saturday 30th September St. Jerome Priest and Doctor of the Church c.347-420 secretary to Pope St. Damasus I, he was tasked with translating the Bible into Latin, a translation known as the Vulgate. He moved to Bethlehem and wrote commentaries on Scripture.


Monday to Wednesday this week I will be in the Scots’ College in Rome talking to our seminarians on prison chaplaincy. Please remember all our seminarians in your prayers at this time as they begin a new year or start off in their first year of studies towards the priesthood.
