Saint Joseph’s P. Trip to Carfin:

Our parish Saint Vincent de Paul Society are running a free trip to Carfin on Saturday 30th September departing from St. Joseph’s at 11.00am and returning around 4.30pm. Please put your name on list in porch if intending to go.


Margaret Sinclair Pilgrimage:

Annual Pilgrimage to pray for her Beatification. This will take place at

St. Patrick’s, Cowgate, Edinburgh today Sunday 17th September from 2-6pm.

There will be Mass at 4.30pm. Preacher: Fr. Richard Reid CSsR.


Special Collection Aged & Infirm Clergy:

There will be a special collection for the aged & infirm clergy today Sunday 17th September. For those who gift aid there are pink envelopes available in the porch today.


Saints of the Week:

September 20th St. Andrew Kim Tae-gon & St. Paul Chong Ha-sang:  St. Andrew was the first Korean priest and St. Paul a catechist; they along with 101 companions were martyred during the persecution of the church in Korea, 1839-67.


September 21st. St. Matthew: Apostle and Evangelist, was originally a tax gatherer for the Romans at Capernaum until called by Christ. He probably wrote his gospel originally in Aramaic for a Jewish audience.


September 23rd. St. Pius of Pietrelcina:  (Padre Pio) priest, died 23rd September 1968. A Capuchin friar, stigmatic, confessor, friend of all who suffer.


Flower Arranging Class:

The flower group will resume this Wednesday 20th Sept. in the Church Hall at 7.00pm. New members welcome. For further details contact Nan Kelly on

Clergy Moves: As announced recently I will be departing for my new parish(es) on October 14th taking up my role as parish priest of St. Marie’s with St. Pius’, Kirkcaldy and St. Ninian’s, Cardenden. Fr. Edward is moving to St. Mary’s, Hawick and Fr. James Tracey will be coming here to Burntisland. Please pray for all the priests who are preparing to move in the next few weeks.
